女士们、先生们，尊敬的各位来宾，
leaders and colleagues from the China Translation Corporation. Greetings.
中国对外翻译有限公司的各位领导、各位同事，大家好！
On behalf of the United Nations family in China, I wish to congratulate the China Translation Corporation in marking their 50th anniversary.
我谨代表联合国驻华系统祝贺中国对外翻译有限公司成立五十周年。
When I first took office as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in China, I learned that the China Translation Corporation had been engaged when the United Nations document translation since 1973, providing high quality language services for the United Nations and other international organizations.
我在刚刚担任联合国驻华协调员之时就了解到，中国对外翻译有限公司自1973年以来一直从事联合国文件翻译工作，为联合国和其他国际组织提供了高质量的语言服务。
China Translation Corporation or CTC also supports efforts in online and on-site translation, as well as interpretation services for the meetings of international organizations.
中国对外翻译有限公司（中译公司）还提供了远程和现场翻译服务，除此以外，为各国际组织提供了笔译以及会议口译服务。
Translation and interpretation as a bridge between different cultures plays a crucial role in allowing for dialogue and understanding between the community of nations.
翻译在不同文化之间搭建起沟通的桥梁，为便利国际社会开展对话和相互理解发挥了至关重要的作用。
With dialogue and understanding, nations are able to listen and learn from one another despite their differences in language and culture, helping to break down barriers, challenge, prejudice,and build more inclusive societies.
通过对话与理解，各国能够跨越语言和文化上的差异，相互倾听和学习，这有助于打破障碍、应对挑战、消除偏见、以及建设更具包容性的社会。
Indeed, global challenges require global solutions to realize a healthy planet, a better economy, a just society, and a world working together by achieving the SDGs.
事实上，我们必须制定全球解决方案来应对全球挑战，通过实现可持续发展目标，维护地球健康、推动经济优化、促进社会公正，并建设一个戮力同心、奋楫笃行的世界。
We need international cooperation and multiculturalism more than ever.Here, multilingualism is also critical, that is why CTC, as a leading provider of language services in China, serves as a valued partner to the United Nations in China and we hope to lie on CTC more in the years ahead as we work with the people and the government of China on their efforts to achieve the SDGs.
眼下，我们比以往任何时候都更需要国际合作和多元文化。就此而言，使用多种语文也至关重要，这就是联合国始终将中译公司这一中国领先的语言服务提供商视为其在中国的重要合作伙伴的原因。我们希望，在未来与中国人民和政府共同努力实现可持续发展目标的过程中，中译公司能够发挥更大的作用。
As cutting-edge breakthroughs in information and communications technology emerge, we also hope that CTC can carefully leverage those innovations in artificial intelligence and big data to better facilitate its cross-cultural communications efforts.
随着信息和通信技术的前沿突破，我们也希望中译公司能够审慎利用人工智能和大数据领域的创新，更好地促进跨文化交流工作。
Again, as the United Nations Secretary General Mr. António Gutierrez said, and I quote, “Multilingualism is a core value of the United Nations helps guarantee the effectiveness of our multilateral system” end of quote.
正如联合国秘书长安东尼奥·古特雷斯所说“使用多种语文作为联合国的一项核心价值观，有助于保障联合国多边体系的有效性”。
In this regard, I believe that CTC can play and will play an even more active role in the future.
在这方面，我相信中译公司未来能够、并且将会发挥更加积极的作用。
