Relying on its advantages of multilingual and top-level translations, CTPC has established and developed its publishing businesses. In recent years, the publishing scope of CTPC has been expanded from UN publications to translating, introducing and publishing excellent works from other countries; from language and translation works to those in various fields such as literature, history, economy and trade, social science, science and technology, etc.; from paper publications to electronic publications and audio-video products. Among its many publications, Translation Theory and Practice Series was part of the publishing plans for key books during the country’s 8th, 9th and 10th Five-Year Plan periods; History of Civilizations of Central Asia authorized by UNESCO was among the publishing plans for key books during the 9th and 10th Five-Year Plan periods; and General History of Africa was also completed after nearly 10 years of hard work.

At present, CTPC has several major publishing branches including reference books, translation works, social science and art books, bilingual books, foreign language textbooks, materials for learners, periodicals as well as audio and video products and electronic publications, thus becoming a large comprehensive publishing house that produces high quality works.
