The first Chinese Language Book Fair ever held overseas, Bookfest at Singapore 2006, co-organized by Popular Holdings Limited of Singapore, China Publishing Group and others, was held at the Singapore Expo from 10th till 19th March 2006. Mr. Zhang Gaoli, Deputy General Manager of CTPC joined the China Publishing Group Delegation to the fair. Hundreds of publishers and cultural organizations from the mainland China, Taiwan area, Hongkong SPA, Malaysia and Singapore sent delegations to the book fair and attended a series of cultural exchange events, an act of exploration into the development of Chinese language education and the expansion of overseas market share of Chinese language books and publications.
