| Throughout the years, CTPC has gained an unrivalled reputation for its reliability and effectiveness in achieving the results its clients require, and our remarkable resource of carefully-screened translators, interpreters and other language service staff are our first and foremost guarantee for this. Indeed, CTPC has a long-standing tradition in contracting with top translators and other language service staff: when it was founded in 1973, the state council of the P. R. China transferred experts and scholars of various foreign languages and academic disciplines from 48 institutions of higher learning across the country, and ever since then, the academic tradition has been passed along in the company and blended into its business professionalism. Not only is it the leading player in the industry, participating in the draft of National Translation Standards and National Interpretation Standards, CTPC has also introduced foreign translation theories through its books and publications, thus contributed a lot to China¡¯s translation studies. Most of our translators are certified by various national qualification assessment committees, and our interpreters are either members of AIIC or recognized by the UN, EU and other international organizations. Up to now, 24 employees have been granted the title of ¡°Distinguished Senior Translator¡± by the Translators Association of China, which is the highest honor for translators in China, and CTPC is the only institution in China to have so many of its employees achieving this honor.
